Lately, we have featured several games developed here at XDA by our members. These games, while not hardcore development, help us take a break from the serious stuff and just have some fun. Not too long ago, we took the scrolling shooter Crazy Fist II for a spin, but if you’re looking for a casual game without any violence, Sheep Jump: 8-bit is definitely worth a shot. Built by XDA Forum Member Riptide099, this game puts you in control of an adorable sheep in beautiful, retro 8-bit style graphics.
The game play basically involves making the sheep jump over obstacles in form of stacked crates. Its single, infinite level offers an endless amount of play, and you can boast your high scores in the global leader-board. The game also features classic 8-bit music to add to the overall retro look-and-feel, and gets increasingly difficult with unpredictable jumps that require precision as you play to add to the challenge.
The game uses invisible on-screen controls, whereby sheep jump upon tapping the right and left sides of the screen. You can use different combinations of both controls to get just the right jump to cross the next obstacle. To reward your dexterity, you get extra points for narrowly avoiding a crash and making a heroic escape.
As always, you can find more details in the forum thread.
